The Heart Behind Giving Back

“The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.”  CHEE!

Christmas is officially around the corner and you all know what that means.  Joy.  Laughter flooding the atmosphere and warm snuggles.  Plentiful amounts of eggnog, the sweet smell of peppermint and colourful stockings hung above blazing fires.

You know what the real magic is behind Christmas though?

It’s watching someone’s face light up when they receive the perfect gift.  That is the joy behind Christmas.  It’s not about a store bought gift or how many “likes” you got on your christmas selfie.  Don’t get me wrong – those things are awesome but they are just the icing on the gingerbread house.  Truly though it’s about sharing the precious gift of time with your family. It’s about grabbing your board, going surfing with those you love and creating epic memories.  It’s about joyfully donating what you have been blessed with and giving to those who are less fortunate.

Today we want to fully appreciate and give a huge shout out to Eric Arakawa Designs who initiated our Give Back Friday.  They helped rally our North Shore ohana together and collect 22 boards to be given away during our Middle East trip this Christmas.  These boards are beautiful and we cannot wait to share our stoke with the local surfers in Egypt and Israel.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to Marc & Crystal Hernandez, Eric, Sean & Kelliann Arakawa, Jon Moyer, Ralph Schroeder, Sergio & Carly Lima from Island Style Surf School, and Buddy Mcray from Blast Surf Designs.  Their beautiful hearts and joy in donating their own personal boards has absolutely blown our minds.  Every single board that was donated is going to be gifted to surfers who are in need of a new ride and we cannot wait to see their overjoyed faces.   This is what Christmas is all about and we are honored to be apart of it.

Now the ball is in your court.  How are YOU going to share the Christmas magic this year and brighten someone else’s day?
