STN Global – Thruster Model

Surfing The Nations is breaking new ground in 2019 and establishing new bases around the world!

Surfing The Nations is going global! While our founding base is established on Oahu, global directors Zach and Charis Ifland are implementing our vision to see Surfing the Nations planted internationally. This means seven STN bases established around the world and you can be a part of it! With foundations already set in the South Pacific, Sweden, and Sri Lanka, we’re still in the pioneering stages of establishing bases in North America, Africa, South America, and Oceania. The common thread between each of our global bases will be implementing the Thruster Model. Modeled after the three-fin surfboard, each of our bases will propel forward using the Thruster Model – the non-profit fin, the business fin, and the creative community fin. Each of these “fins” will look different based on location, culture, and the people, but that’s what makes this venture so exciting. This leaves room for creatives to be empowered to bring relevancy to each individual location – we need you! While bases in North America, Africa, South America, and Oceania are currently undeveloped, we’re excited to build connections in order to pioneer Surfing The Nations globally.

Establishing STN bases in six continents comes with the goal of planting seven bases globally. Bringing Surfing the Nations to the surfers, skaters, and loyal Californians in 2019, we’ll begin the stages of taking STN to the American surf capital of Huntington Beach, California. Global base directors, Zach and Charis are making it all happen in Huntington Beach starting in 2019 by settling there with their two sons and beginning the process of building connections in the surf and skate culture of California. If you’re someone who thrives off the surf, skate, and coastal way of life in HB, this is an official invitation for you to get involved with us in California in 2019. With this, we’re pushing forward at our bases in Sweden and Sri Lanka, and we want you to join us! Our Swedish and Sri Lankan bases are hitting the ground running with their first-ever three month Internship programs kicking off January 2019! If you have a passion to go global and take more risks, this adventure is for you. With a focus on community, character building, and adventure Surfing The Nations Internship Program could be the best three months of your life. So why not spend it in Sweden or Sri Lanka?

With our goal of seeing seven bases in six continents, we’re planning to do this in five years. With our five year plan, this means inevitable pioneering trips to Africa, South America, and Oceania. While we establish STN globally, the foundation of each base’s success depends on the people who run them! In 2019, Sweden is looking for four staff members to join their team, while Sri Lanka is looking for six staff. If you are a past STN staff member, this is an invitation to you! Having experienced STN Hawaii, you know what the Thruster Model is all about and the potential of our Internship Program. Sweden and Sri Lanka are in need of staff for their Spring 2019 Internships. Are you ready to go global?

We’re so excited for what this global venture has in store for the future Surfing The Nations and to see these bases thriving around the world. Stay tuned here and on our Instagram for more details! Unreal. I am located in Huntington Beach, CA. Our company and myself would love to ride your wave. Our company H2O Active would be a great fit!

Thanks. It was great to be part of the first internship in the STN International base in Sweden. I look forward to see and may be part of further pioneering happening.

Got something to say?
