Community Outreach Training Center

The Community Outreach & Training Center (COTC) will be the new home for much of Surfing The Nations’ operation. This new building’s first floor consists of a music studio, art studio, dance and classroom, food pantry, social workers office, as well as a bathroom and shower for public use. The second floor contains much needed office space for Surfing The Nations’ staff. As STN is growing, so is the number of staff and outreach participation, requiring us to expand before we “bust at the seam”. The COTC will allow us to hold our Internship program, Surfers Leadership program, Ulu Pono Kids program, and Feeding The Hungry program. It’s amazing to see this area where the COTC is being built redeemed from once being a brothel, to a center of hope for generations to come.

Get involved and join us in our pursuit to transform this city one building at a time!

Legacy Brick Campaign

Buy a brick, leave a legacy.

As a part of our new Community Outreach and Training Center (COTC) construction we are paving a legacy brick walkway to recognize those who have made our dream of this new building possible… and we want YOU to be a part of it. In addition to donating time and resources, leave a lasting legacy by purchasing your own personalized brick on the walkway! Bricks can celebrate a joyful occasion, honor a loved one, or simply show your community spirit.

The Community Outreach and Training Center (COTC) is well underway! With nearly $700,000 raised in donations and grants in 2015, our dreams of seeing this building come to completion is becoming a reality. We have seen exciting progress made in the construction of this building, from the foundation being laid in January 2015, to adding the steel frame and second floor cement late spring. By fall, we had the roof in place and exterior walls and windows installed, officially completing the outer shell of the building – a major milestone for the project!

Spring 2016 we began to see color on the walls and our focus has turned toward interior construction. Our goal is to see the COTC completed by December! Stay tuned for more updates.
