April Staff Of The Month…

In 2012, one lovely lady moved all the way from the Tibro, Sweden to Wahiawa, Hawaii. She arrived with the intention of staying for 3 months, but little did she know what was in store! Two years later, having completed both the Internship Program and the Surfers Leadership School, she now serves on staff as the Campus Life Coordinator, along with working as a barista at our Surfers Coffee Bar. Can you guess who this may be?? Drum roll…..

N A T A L I E   J O H A N S S O N !

Natalie’s first encounter with Surfing The Nations was when she visited her friends that were doing an internship here; it was during that trip that she realized she wanted to be a part of STN, and decided to apply for internship herself! Now, Natalie spends her working hours in the coffee bar, managing our Service Team volunteers, and preparing for visiting guests.

Something that we love about Natalie is her passion. No matter what job she is given to do, she takes it on with confidence and exceeds expectations with a smile on her face. “Some of my passions include discovering different cultures, giving back, and making people feel appreciated, loved, and welcomed. I love helping create a joyful environment… my job here at STN fits perfectly!”. Natalie’s favorite part of her job is working in the Surfers Coffee Bar during ‘Open Mic’ on Wednesdays. “Those nights include everything from making a delicious cup of coffee that will better someone’s day, to encouraging someone to be confident before entering the stage.”

A hiker and explorer, Natalie is always on the hunt for new ways to enjoy the beautiful nature of Hawaii in her free time. (Can she get any more perfect??) Hoping to gain some wisdom from this epic woman, she gave us this advice: “Make life an amazing and memorable ride – for both you and the people you pass by – by always putting others first and doing it with a smile!”

You rock, Natalie! Thank you for all you do on staff at Surfing The Nations.
