Sri
Lanka Update
Two and a half weeks ago Surfing The Nations sent out a
team of five to Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka. The goal of this
team is to build a meeting place for the "Surf Center",
reconnect with locals from past trips, and organize
outreaches for the June team. While the team has been in
Sri Lanka they have been blessed to have a dear Sri
Lankan friend, Johnson, working with them. Johnson
(featured in the Surfing The Nations DVD
[

to watch) has been an amazing support to the team and
able to help the team to get the building materials
quickly and has helped them build a cabana for a meeting
place. The team is very thankful for the opportunity to
be God's hands and feet and have been working hard to
organize for the June team. Please continue to pray for
the team and that the Lord will give them an
anointing while they are in the midst of turmoil.
Thankfully, in Arugam Bay, the team has experienced a
tranquil environment.
On June 10th we have another team of twelve flying out to meet
in Sri Lanka with the rest of the Sri Lanka team. The
combined team consist s
of surfers from all over the world: Charis
Bauer, Melisa Cassell, Kaya Cassell, Isabella
Cassell, Niklas Eriksson,
Kristin Flynn, Jordan Gash,
Taylor Gibler, Zach Ifland, Rachel Mahaffey, Micheala
Meyers, Sarah Northart, Carrianne Quinn, Ralph
Schroeder, Seraina Schaffner, Jonathan & Alysia Tarpley, and Brent Van Auken are the members of the Summer 2007 Sri Lanka
Outreach Team. Each of these members are excited to see
what God is going to do while they are in Sri Lanka and
how they will be used. The group will be continuing to
build the Surfing The Nations "Surf Center", teach in the
local Muslim schools, share our faith with the people of
Sri Lanka, and love the people that we connect with. Our
hope is to continue to build a bridge between the people
in Arugam Bay and Surfing the Nations and ultimately
that the people of this small town would know God!
