“The best way to spread Christmas Cheer, is singing loud for all to hear.” CHEE!
Christmas is officially around the corner and you all know what that means. Joy. Laughter flooding the atmosphere and warm snuggles. Plentiful amounts of eggnog, the sweet smell of peppermint and colourful stockings hung above blazing fires.
You know what the real magic is behind Christmas though?
It’s watching someone's face light up when they receive the perfect gift. That is the joy behind Christmas. It’s not about a store bought gift or how many ...
When years are spent dreaming about traveling to a new place, there is a strange mix of emotions that occurs when one finally arrives at said location. The excitement of being in a new place combined with the wonder of the unknown and a hand full of hopeful expectations is usually the trio responsible for the lovely endorphin rush a traveller experiences as he or she walks down the terminal. After leaving baggage claim and taking in that first breath of “fresh” air (usually a combination of car exhaust and jet fumes), he or she realizes it’s time to test whether ...
This December, Stefan and Christy Eriksson, directors of STN Sweden, hosted an amazing Ohana Night Fika in Flora, Sweden! The evening was full of laughter, memories, dreams and plans for the future. We were thrilled to see the growth of STN Sweden and loved reconnecting with STN Hawaii alumni, new and old. From starting families to offering assistance to refugees in Sweden, we could not be more proud of all vast ways that our Swedish Ohana are impacting their communities in Sweden.
Thank you to all who were able to be a part of this special evening!
Mele Kalikimaka to our friends and supporters,
Every year, Surfing The Nations makes bigger goals, takes greater risks and meets heavier needs in the great adventure of transforming the city of Wahiawa and countless lives locally and in locations around the world. However, each mile of our journey is made up of many small, committed steps. As STN has continued to cover more ground, we have seen hope rise up in forgotten communities and light invade into dark and gnarly areas around the globe.
In this season of giving and preparation for the new year, we ...
From August 7 to September 7, 2015, a team from Surfing The Nations travelled to Sri Lanka.
Read this first-hand account blog written by STN staff member, Meredith Jones!
A team of eight individuals coming together with a mutual hunger for adventure is how this trip began. We really didn’t know what to expect as we headed off to the teardrop of India, Sri Lanka - we just knew our purpose was to be surfers that give back and make a positive impact. Sri Lanka has been voted as one of the best surf spots in southern Asia... so it’s really no surprise that STN has been ...
Where Are They Now?
After living in South Carolina, England, Hawaii and LA - and having countless international travels in between - it is safe to say that Emily Jones (a.k.a. EmJ) could tell you a few stories from her mere 27 years. From helping to pioneer our Ulu Pono Kids program and working as STN's creative director, EmJ made a major impact during her five years on staff at STN! Unbeknownst to her at the time, each endeavor was a vital piece of the puzzle to help her reach for her ultimate goal: getting to the Congo. A goal ...

September 17, 2002 was a day that the pages of history will certainly hold most dear, the day my baby brother, Connor, was born. My mind refuses to let go of the day my mom ...
For this month’s Alumni Wave, we are featuring a lovely lady from S W E D E N: Anna Strandberg. Keep reading to see how this former STN Staff member is doing now, and what she’s doing to pursue her dreams!

During her stay, Anna worked hard to improve the internship program as the Internship Coordinator. “It was amazing to meet ...
